Incredible vocals and family legacy!
I am Vocalist, Freda Ramey. I’ve been singing for my whole life it seems. As far back as I can remember, I’ve always been in environments of music. Like so many others, my singing started in church and grade school plays and performances. From there, I later joined theatre in college and early on performed in various bands ranging from rock, to blues and jazz, to R&B. I say in here and there with big bands.
Today, I actively perform as a lead with the House Arrest Band of 11 members performing a mix of Classic R&B and Latin with a sprinkling of cross-over classic rock tunes.
I proudly follow the legacy of a family filled with music to include, the late great Eugene Ramey, my grandfather – a world touring jazz bassist who can be found on numerous recordings as early as the 40s, featured in numerous music books and publications. Gene performed with Count Bassie, Charlie Parker, Sonny Rollins amd many many more. Google the name.
My present desire is to just keep performing and enjoying the art form either audiences and fellow musicians.
